Ratings Encoder Monitor and Control
Ratings encoders are vital to broadcaster business interests: without ratings the value of content can't be monetized and revenue generated - clearly a key component to the broadcast business. Crystal has developed applications that:
- interface with both Nielsen and Arbitron hardware; a cross-platform solution that simplifies operations and minimizes operator impact when code changes are needed
- automate Nielsen SID code assignment/re-assignment
- automate Arbitron A-ID code assignment/re-assignment
- link both Nielsen and Arbitron code assignments together
The results include improved confidence in correct assignments with minimal operator input.
Nielsen NAVE Encoder
Crystal's solution enables rapid access to and update of SID assignments by channel: one interface allows all channels to be changed at once. Crystal's solution is elegantly simple but effective.
With this interface Nielsen SID codes may be set up for future assignment (scheduled by the user to take effect at a specified time) or activated immediately: prime-time changes can thereby be minimized and operations streamlined.
Arbitron and Nielsen Code Assignment
With this solution, an operator may:
- re-assign by scrolling through pre-configured SID options; and
- the Arbitron code is automatically selected.
The green buttons along the right-hand-side launch individual Nielsen or Arbitron monitor and control screens for each respective device.
Nielsen NAVE II Encoder
Individual encoder command and control is launched from the operational screens shown to the left.
Arbitron Media Encoder
Similarly, the Arbitron encoders may be launched for individual command and monitoring.
