The Crystal System is a computer-based system which:

• gathers information from external devices,
• interprets the information,
• communicates the information to people and other systems in a user friendly format, and
• commands those external devices to change

Changes are either user-initiated or Crystal-driven internal triggers (which are borne through automation sequencing or automated response to some monitored condition).

The Crystal System is comprised of servers, user interfaces (“UI”) (which may be a mixture of KVM and Zero-Footprint Clients), and interface hardware.  Figure 1 below describes how the system elements can be arrayed.
